Cocktail Smoker Instructions

How to use cocktail smoker:

Note: You must "season" the cocktail smoker prior to first use.

Seasoning the smoker:

1. Ensure metal filter screen is firmly inserted in the wooden smoker
2. Pour water into the glass.
3. Place smoker on top of glass. (Flat end down for shallow glass, neck end down for deep glass)
4. Place a small amount of wood chips into the smoke chamber. (do not overfill with wood shavings)
5. Apply flame with a butane torch while pointing the tip of the flame downward directly at the burn chamber until desired amount of smoke is achieved.
(DO NOT point flame directly at wooden structure of smoker)
- Once the wood chips are no longer smoldering your smoker is ready to use!

 

Smoking the beverage: 
Ensure metal filter screen is firmly inserted in the wooden smoker
Pour beverage in a glass. (adding ice helps draw the smoke in toward the beverage)
Place smoker on top of glass. (Flat end down for shallow glass, neck end down for deep glass)
Place a small amount of wood chips into the smoke chamber. (do not overfill with wood shavings)
Apply flame with a butane torch while pointing the tip of the flame downward directly at the burn chamber until desired amount of smoke is achieved.
(DO NOT point flame directly at wooden structure of smoker)
Once desired amount of smoke is achieved, stop applying the flame and allow the smoker to rest on top of glass while smoke infuses the beverage.
(The longer you allow the smoke to penetrate the beverage, the smokier the taste!)
Smoking the glass:
Ensure metal filter screen is firmly inserted in the wooden smoker
Place smoker on a metal surface (or wood smoking plank) flat end down.
( heat from smoker may char or heat the surface below it. When using the method for smoking the glass it is best to place smoker on a surface such as stainless steel to avoid fire or damage to surface below)
Some kits may include a wooden plank for smoking the glass.
Place a small amount of wood chips into the smoke chamber. (do not overfill with wood shavings)
Apply flame with a butane torch (8-10 seconds max or until desired amount of smoke is achieved) while pointing the tip of the flame downward directly at the burn chamber.
Immediately place empty beverage glass facing down on top of smoker.
Allow smoke to penetrate glass completely.
(The longer you allow the smoke to penetrate the glass the smokier the taste!)
Turn glass over and pour your favorite cocktail.

Taking care of your smoker:

Never point direct flame to any wooden parts of the smoker.
Always ensure flame is pointed downward into the metal screen.
Avoid submerging the smoker in water or other liquids.
Knock loose any wood chips or charring from screen after each use.
Use a soft bristle brush to clean screen.
Wipe any remaining residue from wooden smoker with a dry rag.
If smoker requires further cleaning use a damp rag with a small dab of soap and wipe clean then dry.
Ensure smoker is thoroughly dry before use.
(Exposing your cocktail smoker to liquids or moisture for prolonged periods of time could potentially warp and damage the product)
Your smoker is coated with Tung Oil and properly cured prior to shipping.
Tung oil is extracted from nuts and is known for good water resistance. It leaves a natural finish that darkens the wood while showcasing the grain. Once thoroughly cured, it is food-safe.
